Susquehanna Valley Conservatives is pleased and excited to announce Brittney Morrett as the speaker for their next meeting on Monday, June 10.

Her presentation will address several questions including the following:

I’m an older white male-how do I talk to minorities or youth about conservative principles?

Is it actually realistic to deport 12 million people?

Can conservatives lead on immigration reform?

Are purists doing more harm than good?

Why can’t we all just be Americans? Why do we have to target specific groups?

Plan to attend this meeting and hear what this young woman has to say about the future of our country. The meeting is free and open to the public. Youth and minorities are especially encouraged to attend

Click to view flyer – Are you motivated to do something about the liberal agenda against Life, Traditional Marriage and Religious Freedom

A message from Carolyn –

Did you know that 30% of Evangelicals are not registered to vote?  Or that approximately 65% of all church-goers are unregistered or rarely cast a ballot?

I am working with PA Family Council to implement a GOTV program aimed at turning out values voters on November 6th.  We will be organizing phone banks and canvassing efforts throughout Pennsylvania.  Please consider volunteering to advance this effort.  We will be using cutting edge technology to maximize our time and energy.  Please share the attached flyer with your friends and families.

Will you help make a difference?  No matter how much free time you have there are ways for you to significantly impact voter turnout on Election Day.  If you’ve never be involved before, now is the time.  All training is provided.

Join us to inform voters of candidate differences for President and U.S. Senate.  Help us identify voters who will elect candidates who value life, traditional marriage and religious freedom.  Come help, have some fun and meet new people all while making a difference for our country, communities, and families.

Yard sign placement

Stan Saylor, a long time Snyder County Committeeman, once said,  “nobody ever voted for a yard sign.”  Although this is true, seeing a yard sign on PERSONAL property says a lot.  Yard signs tell everyone who you are supporting and can be a conversation starter. If someone brings up the conversation of your yard sign you can get into a discussion of the candidates the the issues. Perhaps the person you are talking to is not registered to vote?  Maybe they are going to be out of town on Election Day and it never occurred to them to fill out an absentee ballot.  Yard signs can be placed along high traffic public areas; however, they are much more effective when they are on someone’s personal property, stating this is who I am supporting.   PLEASE do not post yard signs on public property during the summer months.  #1, the state or municipality is still mowing grass.  #2, they become a fixture and by November the candidate is not fresh on the voters mind.

Looking for an inexpensive date night or family time out?

We are looking for volunteers to help put yard signs together on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 at 6:00 pm.  There are over 1,500 republican candidate yard signs waiting to be put together at the home of Mark and Irene Harris.  Bring a covered dish (hot dogs and drinks are provided), wear old clothes (putting yard signs together is a dirty job), and bring a lawn chair.  Children are welcome, come out for a night of work and fun.  RSVP to rockstargop@verizon.net so we have an idea of how many people to plan for, but if it is a last minute thing just show up.

TAKE ACTION! Tell Congress to Keep Defending DOMA!

SATURDAY, JUNE 2, 2012

Dear Marriage Supporter,

The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is under assault like never before. And Congress may well be its last line of defense.

Please take a moment to thank House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor for standing firm in defense of DOMA and marriage today!

http://email.vervemail.com/ct/25833840:6340781635:m:3:469260993:F5E4E3EBA2262CA8E3D459E689579CA7:r

Yesterday morning, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit ruled against the federal Defense of Marriage Act, becoming the first federal appellate court to strike down DOMA.

The ruling, coupled with the Ninth Circuit ruling on California’s Proposition 8, sets the stage for a Supreme Court showdown to determine the future of marriage in America next year.

Speaker Boehner and Rep. Cantor deserve a special note of thanks for their courageous defense of DOMA. When President Obama ordered his Justice Department to abdicate their duty to defend DOMA in court (because in his opinion, the law is unconstitutional!), Congress intervened and took over the legal defense of the case. And they hired a superstar, former Solicitor General Paul Clement, to defend our nation’s only federal law protecting marriage.

Please click here to send a message to Speaker Boehner, Majority Leader Cantor, and also your own congressman, thanking them for the House’s defense of DOMA.

These leaders are under intense pressure to drop their defense of DOMA-they need to hear from you today! Please click here to thank them for defending marriage and urge them to keep up the fight right now!

NOM is actively engaged in defending DOMA and state marriage laws in nearly a dozen cases nationwide. Please help us defend DOMA and marriage wherever it is under attack by making a generous donation to NOM today!

Thank you!
