Mifflin Co Tea Party welcomes Billy and Karen Vaughn, parents of fallen Navy SEAL
Mifflin County Tea Party
WELCOMES
BILLY and KAREN VAUGHN
Monday, October 20th – 6:00pm
Billy and Karen Vaughn are the parents of fallen Navy SEAL Team VI member, Aaron Carson Vaughn.
The downing of a chopper (call sign Extortion 17) carrying thirty fearless American warriors was the day Aaron’s life ended and the day their lives began again.
As Billy and Karen began searching for answers their eyes were opened to vile atrocities being played out on America’s military.
They’ve now become advocates for our war fighters…exposing the criminal Rules of Engagement, which have unnecessarily cost so many American soldiers their lives. Billy has authored the book “Betrayed” detailing the days, weeks and months after his son’s death, as he began compiling this devastating information.
The Vaughns spend a considerable amount of time on Capitol Hill, and have shared their story on countless local, state and national radio outlets. They’ve made many appearances on Fox & Friends, as well as Beck TV, The Huckabee Show, Hannity’s America, The Today Show, The Andrew Wilkow Show, The Willis Report, The Kelly File, Geraldo at Large, and more.
Their mission statement: Our defenders deserve to be defended. The burden of their covering rests on us, the patriots of this nation. It is imperative that we stand together and demand change. “Let them fight or bring them home.”

2014 PLC – Kumbaya: Working Together
Kumbaya – Working Together
Brief Notes from PLC –
Gene Barr, PA Chamber of Commerce – look at past history and where we are today and how we can use it. Thank you to veterans. Book, An Army at Dawn – about World War II and the beginnings; book is the story of the North African campaign. This group did not like that group that group did not like the other group; but they all had a common goal and came together to share the common goal which was the goal. We share the common goal; stop leaving our grandkids with a mound of debt.
Stephen Bloom, State Rep – system was designed by founders to be a complex; checks and balances. Controversy is a feature of the system and should be expected. To get things done you need to get a seat at the table. After elected you need credibility to keep a seat which comes from citizen activists. Present good ideas in a message that is crafted in a way that people identify with and can connect with.
Michael Geer, PA Family Institute -founded PA family institute by coming together and working towards a common goal. Formed about the same time PLC was founded. Group comes together – St Paul in letter to Corinthians chapter 12 body does not consist of one member but many. Eye can not say to the body, I have no need for you. We need to recognize and come together.
Robert Gleason, PA GOP Chairman – Gleason and party does not govern. Try to promote the party platform and if you have not read it, you need to. Written every other four years and is a wonderful document. He always reminds those elected of the party platform when he can.
Anastasia Przybylski, Freedom Works – humility and respect. A lot of people woke up five years ago and realized they needed to be involved. People in party structure did not accept us with open arms but now realize we are not going away. The republican party and Tea Party need to recognize one thing, the republican party needs the tea party and the tea party needs the republican party. When people want to run for state or county committee they are me with opposition. Republican Party needs to see there are new people and new energies and realize they need to change with times and need less resistance.
Diana Reimber, Tea Party Patriots – All come together for a commone cause, out of control spending and a tax and spend government. Believe in fiscal responsibility, constitutional rights, right to grow job. The Tea Party Patriots support principles over party. 501C4, does not endorse. Recently formed a pac to support candidates. When ask if the tea party going away – absolutely not. Used to see people waving signs, now you see people going to meeting and running for office.
Celebrate the FIVE year anniversary GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT!
Mifflin County Tea Party Patriots welcome Sam Rohrer to the February 2014 meeting
Sam Rohrer at the OIP in Burnham on Feb 17, 2014 at 6:00pm with Mifflin County Tea Party Patriots. Sam is President of the Pastors Network. Sam will discuss the role of the pastor and the importance of the bible in the government. Bio Below.
Sam Rohrer – Bio
December 2013
Personal Testimony
After a week of revival meetings at his church, seven year old Sam Rohrer recognized his need for a Savior. With his dad’s guidance, he put his faith in Christ that night. Motivated by his mother to choose Biblical heroes, Sam was drawn to Joseph and Daniel. Perhaps his admiration for those two men caused him to wonder if he might someday preach or enter the political field. After majoring in Business and graduating from Bob Jones University in 1977, he worked in the business world for fifteen years.
Political Career
In 1992, God redirected Sam’s steps into state government. For the next eighteen years, he served as a State Representative in Harrisburg. Being an elected official also opened up possibilities for him to share his testimony and to preach in many churches across the state.
Representative Rohrer distinguished himself in the area of economic policies while serving as a Member on the Appropriations Committee and as Chairman of the House Finance Committee. He sought to apply Biblical principles in all areas of legislation including finance as he wrote alternative state budgets and encouraged both parties to lower costs and to avoid tax increases. He also served on the House Education Committee for sixteen years where he fought for parental rights and against Federal entanglement in educational policies. Representative Rohrer authored the Education Improvement Tax Credit scholarship (EITC), which has already aided over 250,000 Pennsylvania students to attend private or Christian schools. The EITC Law has been noted as the model school choice law in the nation. During his tenure, Representative Rohrer was frequently referred to as the ‘Conscience of the House’ because of his consistent stance for moral truth in public policy.
In 2009, Sam followed God’s promptings to campaign as a candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, and in 2011, as a candidate for the United States Senate. Although he gave up his position in the House of Representatives to conduct those campaigns, God used the statewide travels to deepen his relationship with many pastors across the state.
Current Ministry
As a minister of God in government, Sam developed empathy for the similar challenges faced by pastors in the pulpit. In June of 2012, Sam was chosen to lead the Pennsylvania Pastors Network. Uniting his experience in public policy and his love for pastors, he encourages pastors to boldly preach Biblical Truth, especially on issues affecting our current society. In July of 2013, the inception of the American Pastors Network has enabled the creation of new state chapters and a nationwide voice for Truth into the public square. Sam now serves as President of both Pennsylvania and American Pastors Networks.
Personal Life
Sam and Ruth Ann have been married for 36 years and are parents of six children and grandparents of eight. They have homeschooled their children for 23 years and are active members of their local church.

Mifflin County Tea Party Patriots attend Sept 10 “Exempt America” Rally
Sept 10 “Exempt America” Rally for Obamacare: for September 10th in DC Tea Party Patriots has scheduled an “Exempt America” Rally. That is the first full day Congress will be back in session after this break. As they left for this break, it was announced that they, their staff and others who are supposed to be covered by Obamacare, will get a 75% subsidy to help them pay for Obamacare. So it appears our own Representatives; the Administration; Staffs; Unions; Special Interest Groups including the IRS – either get waivers or exemptions from the very Obamacare laws you and I must follow.
The Rally will be kept to 2 1/2 hours maximum and then we will go see our Congressmen and Senators. The purpose is to focus on defunding – or delaying – implementation of Obamacare.
