Joe Peters rose from street cop to serving Presidents Clinton and Bush 43 as a leader in the efforts to combat drug trafficking and battle international terrorism. Joe oversaw the country’s 26 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) programs and their budget of $250 million, and he represented the White House with police, prosecutors, governors, mayors and non-governmental organizations.
As a Federal Prosecutor, Joe’s accomplishments include the convictions of Philadelphia Mob Boss “Little Nicky” Scarfo, his underboss, and 16 mob soldiers. This trial, conducted by Joe and four other Federal Prosecutors, resulted in one of the most significant Mafia family convictions in U.S. history. As a result, he received the U.S. Department of Justice’s John Marshall Award. The Associated Press called Joe and his fellow prosecutors the “Modern Day Untouchables.” (to learn more about Joe, click here)
Cruz: “We shouldn’t be talking about punishing women; we should affirm their dignity and the incredible gift they have to bring life into the world.”
HOUSTON, Texas – Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump stating that if abortions were banned, women should be punished if they get an abortion:
“Once again Donald Trump has demonstrated that he hasn’t seriously thought through the issues, and he’ll say anything just to get attention. On the important issue of the sanctity of life, what’s far too often neglected is that being pro-life is not simply about the unborn child; it’s also about the mother — and creating a culture that respects her and embraces life. Of course we shouldn’t be talking about punishing women; we should affirm their dignity and the incredible gift they have to bring life into the world.”
By now most everyone has heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge raising funds for the ALS Association. Americans are a generous lot and they have gravitated to this fun effort. However in the midst of the excitement a cruel fact has been uncovered; one which crosses ethical lines and jerks us from entertainment back to reality. ALSA uses embryonic stem cells in its research efforts.
So what is one to do? Compassionate people certainly (continue reading)

It was hard yesterday, on a quiet summer Sunday in rural central Pennsylvania, to imagine that the small factory across from the lot where we’re building our Orthodox mission temple would have its fate decided by the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC today.
But it did.
Conestoga Wood Specialties, owned by a Mennonite family, was, along with better-known Hobby Lobby, owned by an Evangelical Protestant family, the focus of today’s final Supreme Court decision for this season.
The case centered on whether companies because of their owners’ religious beliefs could opt out of government-required contraceptive insurance coverage (which some deem abortifacient) under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or face crippling fines that would have forced Conestoga (continue reading)
Brief Notes from PLC –
Ken Blackwell, Family Research Council. He wrote the book RESURGENT: How Constitutional Conservatism Can Save American. “Ronald Reagan is back and this time he is black.”
Mother said there are three important books (not in order)
- Date book – how spend time and who with
- Checkbook – tells how you spend you money not matter how much or meager
- Good book keeps on path of conviction than than path of convenience
Dad added fourth book; although mother argued not a book – the constitution (We are all equal to the image God created us; your human rights are not a gift from government, but a gift from God.)
- Hebrew 12 verse 1 – cloud of witnesses watching how we run the race
- Psalms 11 verse 3 if the foundations are being destroyed
- John 3, those who would like to do evil love the darkness
Our country has come through great challenges before, the question is will we rise up now when once again American is being challenged. Do we have the will. In this democracy it means willing elections.

Conestoga Wood Specialties, a family-run business owned by the Hahns, are seeking a religious exemption from the HHS mandate so that they will not be forced through their business to provide drugs that can cause an abortion.
