Tomorrow’s leaders, grades 3-12 are asked to submit artwork to the White House

First Lady Melania Trump will honor the centennial anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment with an exhibit showcasing artwork by young Americans.

“As we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, it’s important to include our children in the conversation so they can learn and understand the history behind the Women’s Suffrage Movement” said First Lady Melania Trump. “For decades, women leaders lobbied, marched, and protested for equality and their right to vote in the United States. It is my hope that this project will both support and expand the important conversations taking place on equality and the impact of peaceful protests, while encouraging children to engage in the history behind this consequential movement in their own home states.” (Continue reading)

There will be activities for all ages,  some of Reagan’s favorite foods and, of course,  jelly beans and chocolate cake!  Bring your entire family.

Republican Women collect Jared Boxes at Fall Conference

In keeping with our PFRW President’s theme, “Our Children, Our Future,” Jared Boxes will be collected on October 19th, 2013 at the Fall Conference.

Individuals may bring or box, or perhaps a group or council would like to put a box together.

jared box projectThe goal of the Jared Box Project is to lift the spirits of chronically ill children. The boxes symbolize the importance of play and are filled with well wishes, hope, and love.

A Jared Box is a shoebox size plastic storage box filled with small gifts, toys, cards, and games. Each box contains items selected for a specific age and gender. The boxes are delivered to hospitals and are given to chronically ill children. The Jared Boxes provide a special diversion for young patients as they receive chemotherapy and other medical treatments.

The Jared Box Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  All donations are tax-deductible.

The Jared Box project was started in 2001 by the children at Our Lady of Victory School in State College, PA to honor their classmate and friend, Jared. He was a brave little boy who battled cancer with courage and faith that continues to inspire us all.
