Lt Gov Jim Cawley to be guest at April’s SVC meeting

Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania, Jim Cawley, will be the guest speaker for the next meeting of Susquehanna Valley Conservatives. The meeting will be held on Monday, April 14 at 7:00PM in the Baylor Conference Room at the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, Lewisburg.

Jim Cawley, 44 years old, graduated from Bishop Egan High School in Bristol Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He then graduated cum laude from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He received a law degree from Temple University School of Law.

Prior to being elected to the Bucks County Board of Commissioners, he was Chief of Staff to State Senator Tommy Tomlinson. In 2000, he ran for a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 141st District. Incumbent Democrat State Representative Anthony Melio won re-election by defeating Cawley 56%-42%. He was also a former Pennsylvania state chairman and national co-chairman of the College Republicans and served as an elected member of the Bristol Township School Board.

He serves on the County Commissioner’s Association of Pennsylvania’s Energy, Environment, & Land Use Committee as Vice Chairman. Jim is a former member of the board of directors for Lower Bucks Hospital, a former trustee of Bucks County Community College and a Commonwealth trustee of Temple University.

John Bouder to speak at Susquehanna Valley Conservative March 2014 meeting

John Bouder will be the featured speaker for the next SVC meeting on Monday, March 10 at 7:00PM at the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, Lewisburg. His presentation will focus on paycheck protection—ending government union bosses’ unfair political privilege that allows them to use taxpayer resources for politics.John Bouder is a Policy Analyst & Communications Officer for the Commonwealth Foundation for Public Policy Alternatives. He is a lifelong resident of Central Pennsylvania. He attended high school at Northumberland Christian School and college at Susquehanna University. He holds a B.A. in Writing and is a short story aficionado and an antiques collector.

 John and his wife are the parents of two daughters and he is committed to bequeathing to his family a free and prosperous Pennsylvania.

Susquehnna Valley Conservatives host their February 2014 meeting – “Jihad in America.”

Robert Heffley will be the speaker for the next SVC meeting scheduled for Monday, February 10 at 7:00PM at the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, Lewisburg. His presentation is titled, “Jihad in America.”

Most Americans are unaware of our country’s history with violent jihad and the enormous strides of “Cultural Jihad” that influence every aspect of our society. The Muslim Brotherhood has been at work here for decades with the intent to achieve the same success it has enjoyed in Europe. ACT! For America, the nation’s largest and fastest growing grass roots national security organization, informs the public about this threat, organizes citizens to defeat the threat in their communities, and leads legislative efforts at the state and federal level.

 Robert Heffley is a chapter leader and leadership mentor for ACT! For America, the nation’s largest grass roots national security organization. Residing in Hampton, Virginia, he mentors chapter leaders in the Eastern U.S., assists in developing membership and new chapters, and represents ACT! For America at speaking and training events.

Bob is a native of Pittsburgh, PA where he earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh. His graduate degree is from Central Michigan University. He has held senior executive positions in the film/media industry and most recently the maritime transportation industry. Bob had a military career serving in command and staff assignments in airborne and aviation units in both peacetime and combat. He and his wife, Catherine, have four grown children and one grandchild.

Sam Rohrer to speak at 01.13.2014 Susquehanna Valley Conservative Meeting

Sam Rohrer 2Sam Rohrer will be the speaker for the Susquehanna Valley Conservatives meeting on Monday, January 13 at 7:00PM in the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, Lewisburg.

 His presentation is titled, “A Republic—If you can keep it—The Threats and the (Biblical) Solutions.”

Talking points will focus on answering 3 major questions:

  • What is a republic?
  • What destroys a republic?
  • How can we keep our republic?

He will:

  • Talk about the two “Pillars of Truth” upon which our republic was founded.
  • Define the enemy of a Republic and the enemies that undermine the Pillars of Truth.
  • Identify some current examples of attacks on our Republic emanating from Washington.
  • Identify some very practical things that can be done and what PPN (PA Pastors Network) is doing to not only stop the erosion of our foundations but to rebuild the walls.

The meeting is open to the public free of charge. Those with opposing points of view are encouraged to attend.

12/9/2013 SVC host Congressman Tom Marino for a Town Hall

Republican Congressman Tom Marino will be the guest speaker at the SVC meeting scheduled for next Monday evening December 9. The meeting will begin at 7:00PM in the Baylor Conference Room at the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, Lewisburg.

Congressman Marino will do a “town hall” style meeting talking about important subjects including:

• the collapse of Obamacare and where do we go from here on healthcare

• the continuing crisis of the national debt

• road blocks in the U.S. Senate arising from the tenure of Senator Harry Reid and his majority

• the impact of President Obama’s liberal presidency both at home and abroad

• the prospects for conservative Republicans to take an off-year election majority in the Senate while retaining their majority in the U.S. House

The meeting is open to the public free of charge. Those with opposing points of view are welcome to attend.
