Tea Party Patriots visting US Senator Pat Toomey’s office

ToomeyPatriots, I am sure you heard about Toomey and our gun rights.  We are not happy about him interfering with our 2nd Amendment Rights.  Therefore, we are planning to visit his Johnstown office at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 16.  We need as many people there at possible.  If you have a letter defending our Second Amendment rights please bring it with you. We encourage you to drop it off at his office during the rally. It would be great if one person at a time could go into his office and hand deliver that letter.  Below is Toomey’s office address in Johnstown.  We must stand and fight for our rights!

Pennsylvania House Republican Members Call on Senator Toomey to Stand Up for Second Amendment Rights

4/10/2013

HARRISBURG — State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) and 75 House Republicans sent a letter yesterday to U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) urging him to stand with his constituency in support of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

The letter reads:

“The majority of state legislators in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives believe that the right to bear arms must be vigorously defended, as evidenced by the passage of Castle Doctrine (Act 10 of 2011). Here in Pennsylvania, we have a longstanding history in support of our God-given, constitutionally-affirmed Second Amendment freedom. We swore to uphold and defend both the Pennsylvania and United States Constitutions the day we took office. As Article 1, Section 21 of our state Constitution reads, ‘The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.’ We stand in defense of our Constitutions.

“We write to you today to request that you stand with us. As part of our elected representation in Washington, D.C., we urge you to reject any compromise that would advance any new gun control measures, including ‘universal’ or ‘comprehensive’ background checks that are being advocated for by New York City Mayor Bloomberg, Obama, Biden, Senator Chuck Schumer or any other individuals seeking to violate the rights of law abiding citizens instead of stopping criminals. Our country does not need additional gun control laws from the federal or state levels of government. We should work to actively enforce our current laws; to stop those who are committing crimes against their fellow citizens.

“In 2011, just in Pennsylvania alone, our citizens purchased over 600,000 firearms and our county sheriffs issued over 166,000 licenses to carry firearms, according to data from the Pennsylvania State Police. Meanwhile, crimes committed with firearms continue to decrease as issuance of licenses to carry firearms increases. Since 2006, Pennsylvania has seen an over 20 percent reduction in violent crimes committed with firearms. These statistics prove that an armed law abiding citizenry is the best deterrent to crime.

“Enhanced gun control measures ultimately hinder the freedoms of law abiding citizens. As Benjamin Franklin once said, ‘Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.’

“We encourage and expect you to stand with us to protect our God-given right to keep and bear arms.”

Just had to share this email we received . . .

rifleToday I opened my front door wide open and set my Winchester Model 94 right in the doorway.   I placed 6 cartridges beside it, and noticing that it had no legs, set it on my mom’s old wheelchair to help it get around.  I then left it alone and went about my business.   While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign right in front of our house.

After a couple of hours, I checked on the gun.   It was still setting there in the wheelchair, right where I had left it.   It hadn’t rolled itself outside.   It certainly hadn’t killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had been presented to do so.   In fact, it hadn’t even loaded itself.   Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the media hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people.

Either the media is wrong, and it’s the misuse of guns by PEOPLE that kills people, or I’m in possession of the laziest gun in the world.

Alright, well I’m off to check on my spoons.  I hear they’re making people fat.

SVC annouces Rep Daryl Metcalfe will speak at March 2013 meeting – PROTECTING OUR RIGHTS TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS

“PROTECTING OUR RIGHTS TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS”

right to bear arms

That’s the topic Daryl Metcalfe (Republican- Butler County) will be addressing when he is the speaker for the Monday, March 11 meeting of Susquehanna Valley Conservatives at 7:00PM in the Baylor East Conference Room of the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, Lewisburg. Recognized by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s “No. 1 Conservative”, State Representative Daryl Metcalfe is serving his eighth term in office. He serves as the Republican Majority Chairman of the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee.

On January 23, 2013, Rep. Metcalfe announced his legislation that would make any new federal gun control laws unenforceable within the Commonwealth. “Passage of my legislation will send a message that there will never be additional gun control, anywhere in Pennsylvania,” said Metcalfe. “Whether by White House executive orders, congressional fiat, or judicial activism, we will never allow the left to benefit from the wicked acts of murderers in order to advance their senseless gun-grabbing agenda which would only succeed in replacing one of our most sacred personal liberties with the chains of government tyranny.”

The meeting is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

PA Gun Ban Bill Update- IMPORTANT

hand gunNothing is grandfathered, its very broadly worded, it builds and expands on Feinstein’s ban. This could spell the end of most semi automatic rifles in PA except rimfire .22 rifles, as well as quite a few semi auto shotguns and handguns. Call and email your PA state senators now to stop this:
