HARRISBURG, PA– Today, Senator Pat Toomey endorsed Cumberland County District Attorney and candidate for Attorney General David Freed.
“Our next Attorney General must have an outstanding record of success in prosecuting criminals and he must have the principled leadership necessary to oversee the top law enforcement office in the commonwealth,” said Senator Toomey.
“Fortunately, we have an experienced prosecutor who has exactly what it takes for this important position,” continues Toomey. “Dave Freed has been a leader in the Pennsylvania law enforcement community and, as Vice President of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, he’s taken the lead in protecting our citizens from dangerous drugs and traffickers, violent crime, as well as elder abuse, child abuse and fraud.
“Dave has the trust of his colleagues, a record of prosecutorial success, and the leadership necessary to keep our families safe. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Dave Freed this year for the Office of Attorney General.”
“It’s an honor to have the support of Senator Toomey,” said Freed. “The senator’s reputation within the law enforcement community and across the commonwealth is sterling. It means a lot to have him stand with our campaign today.”
Senator Toomey’s endorsement follows endorsements by Governor Ridge and more than 40 district attorneys across Pennsylvania – both Republican and Democrat. Freed has also earned the support of the Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania State Lodge, the NRA, NFIB, PEG PAC, the Pennsylvania Medical Society and others.
