The SUN (Snyder, Union, and Northumberland counties) Area Council of Republican Women recently passed a resolution in support of American citizenship for the Servano’s. The resolution is posted on their website at www.sunacrw.wordpress.com.
Dr. Pedro and Mrs. Salvacion Servano have been fighting for citizenship due to an issue with their paperwork. They were told to report to the Allenwood Prison for deportation during November 2007. They are currently here on a stay but are not citizens. The only way for them to gain their citizenship is through a legislative bill. Pedro earned a degree as a medical doctor and Salvacion earned a degree as a nurse. They have been working in America and paying taxes. Dr. Servano has been providing medical care to Americans, including those on Medicare, which other doctors would not accept. Dr. Servano has worked for Geisinger Medical Center for 17 years. Salvacion is currently operating a family store in Sunbury, they has established successful businesses in the Susquehanna Valley; and have four children who were raised in America and are natural born U.S. citizens.
The SUNACRW are encouraging the public to attend a vigil in the Sunbury Park on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 6:30 pm sponsored by the SUN Area Council of Republican Women. Their resolution will be read and petitions will be available for anyone wishing to sign to show their support. Questions, please call 570-541-8697. -End-
