This Weekend… The Response: A Call to Prayer

An email received from Wall Builders . . .

[I]f My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

This Saturday, August 6, 2011 is The Response: A Call to Prayer For a Nation in Crisis at Reliant Stadium (indoors) in Houston. Governor Rick Perry has invited the entire nation and the other 49 governors to join him in this Joel 2 solemn assembly. Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in such an historic event.

If you are unable to attend in person, you can still register to participate by praying at home or facilitating a “live streaming” event at your church or place of worship. Join with thousands of Americans and numerous other spiritual and political leaders from across the nation, including Governor Paul LePage (Maine), Governor Bob McDonnell (Virginia), Governor Sam Brownback (Kansas), and Rick Scott (Florida) in supporting this momentous event.

Spread the word with videos, Twitter, Facebook, and other great materials ready for you to share with your friends and family.

We hope you will join us in Houston this Saturday or in your own home or church for a time of prayer for our great nation.

God bless!

17th Annual Parents of the Year Banquet

In 1994 President Bill Clinton signed into law the resolution unanimously adopted by the U. S. Congress establishing the fourth Sunday of every July as Parents’ Day, a perennial day of commemoration similar to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. According to the Congressional Resolution, Parents’ Day is established for “recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children.”
