Susquehanna Valley Conservatives sponsor bus to Second Amendment Rally 4/23/2013

Fellow Conservatives,

There is a very important event taking place in Harrisburg on Tuesday, April 23rd. It’s the PA Second Amendment Action Day which demands the attention of all citizens, especially hunters, who are concerned about our Second Amendment and plans by the Obama Administration to severely restrict our right to own and bear arms, if not to confiscate them completely. Attached are two fliers that outline the important purpose for holding this event.

SVC wants to support State Representative Daryl Metcalfe and leaders from pro-Second Amendment organizations from across the state of Pennsylvania. In order to make it easy for our members to attend this event we have chartered a bus to take us to Harrisburg and back. The cost is a very reasonable at $20 per person to ride in comfort to and from Harrisburg on Tuesday, April 23rd. There are still some seats available but we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible but certainly before April 1. A reservation form is attached for your convenience.

Rep Daryl Metcalfe hosts 2013 annual “Wings and Fries” fundraiser

wings and friesMarch 8, 2013

Dear Friend,

On Election Day, November 6, 2012, I spent the day visiting with voters as I traveled from poll to poll.  I was surprised by a young woman who approached me outside of a Cranberry poll to tell me that she wants to run against me, but that she was not ready yet.  Her aggressive actions that day reinforce the reality that in a two year election cycle, the campaign never stops if one hopes to be victorious.

I was sworn into my new term of office on New Year’s Day this year.

If all elected officials abided by their oath of office, to defend the Constitution, then the future of the U.S.A. would not be at risk.  We are witnessing continuous violations of our Constitution and our rights by Obama and his comrades.  Obama’s accomplices are also attempting to advance his leftist agenda at the state and local level of our government.

The Constitution limits the power and role of our government.  Our state government should stand up against the unconstitutional expansion of federal power and change policies to improve our own economy.  I am fighting to reduce state spending, debt and taxes.  I am working with colleagues in an effort to stop the increased spending that Obamacare will cause through state health exchanges and an expansion of Medicaid.   I have introduced bills to protect marriage, defend our 2nd Amendment “right to bear arms,” and make Pennsylvania a “Right to Work” state.  I am also working to advance legislation that will reform government pensions, eliminate excessive regulations, defund abortionist groups like Planned Parenthood, and stop teacher strikes.

I need your help in the fight to defend our Constitution, our liberties, our values and our pockets.  Our annual “Wings and Fries”  fundraiser will be at Quaker Steak and Lube in Cranberry Twp. on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 5:30pm-8pm.

Would you consider sponsoring our “Wings and Fries” event for $250?

If you are not able to sponsor, the admission price is $25 per adult and $5 for your children ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free.

If you cannot attend the event, please consider sending a contribution to help make it a success.

I invite you to join with me in the fight to protect hardworking taxpayers.  Please send your response by Friday, March 22, 2013 to:

Friends for Daryl Metcalfe, P.O. Box 1536, Cranberry Twp, PA 16066.

For Liberty,

Daryl Metcalfe

State Representative

P.S.  Please help me by sending your contribution today.

Please return this form with your check for sponsorship or reservations to:

Youth Leadership School is hosting a legendary training at State College, PA (Penn State) on April 6th and 7th, 2013

leadership institute

The Youth Leadership School is hosting our legendary training at State College, PA (Penn State) on April 6th and 7th, and I am cordially inviting you and your friends to attend!

The YLS is an intensive two-day campaign activism training that teaches students all the tools and techniques needed to be an effective conservative activist.  Below are 5 reasons you should attend the flagship school of the Leadership Institute:

1.       Tired of having only 15 people in your conservative group?   Learn how to triple the size of your group in a single weekend.

2.       Create powerful earned media.  Tired of not getting media coverage for your activism?  The YLS will teach you the communication techniques to pitch your story to the media.  By implementing 12 effective activism techniques, the media simply cannot ignore you.

3.       Change the direction of our country.  Learn time tested and effective campaign techniques to win elections at the local, state, and federal level, defeat big government, and combat the liberal left.

4.       Launch your career at the Youth Leadership School.  Want to work on campaigns or in politics?   The Leadership Institute hires interns, field representatives, and recommends youth coordinators to top campaigns.

5.       Join an elite group of YLS alumni.  For over 30 years, conservative activists and movement leaders have built a foundation of success on their YLS training.  YLS grads include sitting Senators, Congressmen, Governors, and conservative leaders like Americans for Prosperity President Tim Philips.

If you want to increase the size of your group, earn media, change the direction of our country, and launch your career, attend the YLS in Happy Valley on April 6th and 7th.  Registration is only 30 dollars, which covers all meals, course materials, and free books.  Accommodations are provided at no extra cost for students traveling over an hour to attend the training.  If you would like any more information or have any questions, visit our website at www.leadershipinstitute.org/yls or call me at 703.647.3356.

Note time change for March 2013 SVC Meeting. Rep Daryl Metcalfe to speak on Second Amendement Rights

Please note that the March 11, 2013 Susquehanna Valley Conservatives will be held at 7:30 pm (rather than 7 pm as previously announced).

“PROTECTING OUR RIGHTS TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS”

That’s the topic Daryl Metcalfe (Republican- Butler County) will be addressing when he is the speaker for the Monday, March 11 meeting of Susquehanna Valley Conservatives at 7:00PM in the Baylor East Conference Room of the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, Lewisburg. Recognized by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s “No. 1 Conservative”, State Representative Daryl Metcalfe is serving his eighth term in office. He serves as the Republican Majority Chairman of the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee.

On January 23, 2013, Rep. Metcalfe announced his legislation that would make any new federal gun control laws unenforceable within the Commonwealth. “Passage of my legislation will send a message that there will never be additional gun control, anywhere in Pennsylvania,” said Metcalfe. “Whether by White House executive orders, congressional fiat, or judicial activism, we will never allow the left to benefit from the wicked acts of murderers in order to advance their senseless gun-grabbing agenda which would only succeed in replacing one of our most sacred personal liberties with the chains of government tyranny.”

The meeting is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
