PI2013 #023 – No Bullets, No Guns

ASK A HORSE

Liberty Lovers,

http://www.usdebtclock.org: Every American Taxpayer Now “Owes” “The (federal) State” $142,935, every citizen $52,184.

“25 States allow anyone to buy a gun, strap it on, and walk down the street with no permit of any kind: some say it’s crazy. However, 4 out of 5 US murders are committed in the other half of the country: so who is crazy?” ~  Andrew Ford

Gun Control Advocates Lost no time using Newtown-Sandy Hook tragedy to call for more restrictive ownership measures.  Some contend ammunition/magazine limits, not restricting possession, is how to stop such incidents.

“Gun bans don’t disarm criminals, gun bans attract them.” ~  Walter Mondale

No Or Precious Few bullets is tantamount to no guns.  Tiananmen Square’s “Tank Man” would not likely have been a martyr had he, too, been driving a tank.

“Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.”~  Mahatma Gandhi

Never Accept 2nd Amendment Dilution or banishment.  “State” permission is not required for self-defense.  “The State” may not deny people self-defense, either by means or degree; to do so is calculated tyranny.
“The usual road to slavery is that first they take away your guns, then they take away your property, then last of all they tell you to shut up and say you are enjoying it.” ~  James A. Donald

People Intending To Live In Liberty do not allow legislators – or other public officials within These United States of America, to prohibit or restrict private ownership of firearms and ammunition from any citizen of good repute and responsible standing. They preserve their heritage to protect themselves from crime and tyranny.

Obama using doctors to identify gun owners

Dear Patriot,

Florida Governor Rick Scott signed first in the nation legislation last week preventing doctors from asking and recording information regarding whether or not a family has a gun in their house. It may surprise many of you who do not have young children that pediatricians across America have included questions of gun ownership in their standard patient documentation for the last few years under the guise of protecting children from accidental death. It should be noted that these doctors do not ask about swimming pools, staircases, elevated decks or cleaning chemicals that each year kill far more children than do accidents with guns.

The Federal government has been pushing doctors toward electronic medical records for the last 10 years and under Obamacare, it will become mandatory for all medical records to be stored in central data repositories that will be accessible by the government. Using this data, the government will be able to more easily identify which households have guns and which do not. The Brady Center for Gun Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics (both politically liberal organizations) have filed suit in Federal court to block the new law.

We fully expect the Obama Administration and Attorney General Eric Holder will join in the lawsuit much the same way they did regarding Arizona’s illegal immigration laws to allow the continued collection of gun ownership information. What better way to find out who owns the millions of legal but unregistered firearms than hide behind the liberal standard of “we just want it for the children”.

We encourage the safe storage and handling of all firearms, especially in those homes with children. It is the responsibility of every gun owner to make sure that firearm accidents are prevented. The pediatricians could easily give parents a handout on gun safety around children. They could also include safety information on pools, hot tubs, chemicals and other injury hazards. Don’t be fooled for a second that these questions are about protecting children.

This is about data collection, period. Are you getting nervous yet?

Sincerely,

Roger Stockton

Support Representative Metcalfe, one of the most conservative State Representatives, as he introduces a bill to expand Castle Doctrine

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Remember all of three months back when Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head during an assassination attempt in Tuscon and the political world reacted with, oh, half an hour of deceny and reflection and urged a new level of respect and less fiery rhetoric during political debate?

Well, apparently, state Rep. Margo Davidson, D-Delco, does not.

During House debate yesterday on a bill to expand the “Castle Doctrine,” a state law allowing lethal self-defense by an armed citizen who feels threatened, Davidson dragged her institution’s already sagging reputation down a peg.

In fact she shot holes in the notion of reasoned civility and suggested once again that Pennsylvania politicians are far from role models for anyone thinking of elective office.

In rendering scenarios in which the new law might excuse the killing of a person perceived as a threat, Davidson stood on the House floor and asked a question that included a reference to the chamber’s most conservative member and maybe strongest pro-gun advocate, Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-Butler County.

“If the gentleman from Butler County stood yelling, knowing that he’s a gun-toter, and I felt threatened, would I be protected under court law if I blew his brains out?”

Amid audible gasps, she then giggled.

House Speaker Sam Smith banged the gavel and ordered Davidson’s remarks stricken from the record.

Now maybe Davidson is a wonderful person and a fine legislator who just had a momentary (and despicable) lapse in judgement. Maybe because the Philly native is only in her first term she doesn’t understand that Pennsylvania is a big state represented by a men and women with various views that don’t diminish them as people.

But can you imagine the outrage if this moment was reversed and a white male rural Republican lawmaker suggested blowing the brains out of a black female Democratic lawmaker?

For that matter, can you imagine the hue and cry of liberals if any conservative said something like this during a public debate? Because, you know, it’s only the political right that infuses its rhetoric with vile language, venom and references to “lock and load” or “re-arm,” right?

This instance is a profound embarrassment to Pennsylvania, its state House and Davidson, whether her remarks are stricken from the record or not.

A message from Jeff Harris; stand up for your second amendment rights; call and/or e mail your Pa State House Representative and ask them to vote YES to HB 1926

Friends,

For the last 6 YEARS members of Firearm Owners Against Crime and other 2ND Amendment supporters have fought to pass Castle Doctrine outside the home, now known as HB 40, in the Pa House of Representatives or SB 842, in the Pa Senate. Since neither have passed, even though the co-sponsors have been in the majority, HB 40 has been attached to HB 1926 (Called Megan’s Law to protect our children). This bill is on the agenda for Monday, 11/15/2010  and we need everyone:

call and/or e mail your Pa State House Representative and ask them to vote YES to HB 1926.

Feel free to foward this to anyone you feel will help with this project. This will be the last time this year that we can have this passed or we start all over in 2011.

Thank you.

Jeff Harris
